Our Projects

  • Project 1 – Rescuing Men and Boys from Addiction to Drugs and Alcohol

    Men and young boys in the ghettos will be ushered into our rehabilitation facility to prevent them from destroying their lives with alcohol and drugs

    They will undergo 3-month rehabilitation where they will take part in bible studies and counseling, literacy classes, computer classes, sports, and skills training – baking, etc.

  • Project 2 – Rescuing Women in the Ghettos from Prostitution, Addiction and Abuse

    Young girls and women who are addicted to drugs and alcohol, physically and emotionally abused or prostitutes will be identified during our ghetto outreach programmes and given shelter at our Women and Children’s Facility.

    They will undergo 3-month rehabilitation where they will take part in bible studies and counseling, literacy classes, computer classes, sports, and skills training – baking, hairdressing etc.

    They will be provided with food, clothing and shelter

    Their babies and young children are cared for by trained staff and the older children can take part in literacy classes

    Free medical care is also provided especially for young children and pregnant mothers

  • Project 3 – Rescuing Babies from Drugs and Alcohol

    Focuses on babies born to mothers who are addicted to drugs and alcohol and pregnant addicts.

    Such babies and their mothers will be cared for at the Women and Children’s Facility and all their medical expenses will be covered.

  • Project 4 – Drug and Alcohol Awareness Campaigns

    Awareness campaigns are held in schools, organizations, churches etc.

    Presentation on Harmful Effects of Drug and Alcohol Addiction

    Recovered addicts share testimonies and experiences

    Audience interaction (question and answer sessions between recovered addicts, resource people etc)

  • Project 5 – Outreach Program (Monday, Wednesday and Fridays)

    Areas for outreach programmes include ghettos/slums, prisons, hospitals, streets and market places.

    Disciples are spilt into groups led by volunteers

    During outreach food, clothes, water and bibles are shared and the Word of God is shared.

    Any addicts who wish to join the program are directed to the Rehab Center.

  • Project 6 – Medical Screening (Mondays, Tuesday, Wednesdays, Thursdays and Fridays)

    Medical screening is done on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in the ghettos and on Tuesdays and Thursdays in schools.

    It includes checking blood pressure, checking for malaria parasites, HIV/AIDS screening etc

    Trained HIV technical counselors educate the public and provide counseling services.

    Any individuals found to be reactive are referred to a hospital for further tests and treatment with ARVs.

  • Project 7 – Free Transportation during Rush Hour (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays)

    The Center provides free transport for commuters at 6:30 am and 4 pm on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

    Commuters are transported from Achimota to Kwame Nkrumah Circle, Accra Central and St. Johns and back to Achimota

    On the bus volunteers and disciples:

    Preach to and pray for passengers

    Create awareness about the harmful effects of drug and alcohol abuse and the activities of the Rehab Center Share testimonies with the passengers

  • Project 8 –Ghana Going Greener GGG (Tree Planting& Clean-up Exercise)

    Volunteers are expected to research and find out locations in Accra where tree planting and clean-up exercises would be most ideal for the disciples.

    With the help of members of staff volunteers are to locate companies that will sponsor seedlings for the exercise and constantly supply water for the upkeep of the plants.

    Sponsorship; identifying of ideal locations; clean-up exercises; and tree planting should occur within the two months that the volunteer will be around.

  • Project 9 –Football or any other sport (Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays)

    Disciples who wish to join the football team will go to a football park to train.

    The volunteer coach will select the best players to form a football team.

    The team must be trained on a daily basis.

    Volunteers are expected to contact other teams in the area and set up football matches on a constant basis.

    Disciples who do not want to join the team but still want to exercise can also join the training programme on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays.

  • Project 10 –Choir/Music Band

    Disciples who can sing and play instruments will form a choir.

    Volunteers will take them through daily voice training and rehearsals.

    Choir will prepare for and perform during all Chosen Rehab Center events including outreach programmes, graduations etc.

  • Project 11 –Music Recording Studio

    Disciples will be given lessons on mixing, mastering, editing and programming using Cubase, Pro-tools, Reason 5 and Wave Lab.

    All songs written by the Chosen Music Band will berecorded and produced at the music studio.

    Talented singers and instrumentalists will come together and record various inspirational songs for a 10-track album

    This album will be sold to raise funds for the Rehab Center and its programmes and to create awareness about drug and alcohol abuse

    Traditional nursery rhymes from all over Ghana will be recorded onto an album

  • Project 12 – Educational Sponsorship

    Disciples who graduate from our Rehab Center and wish to further their education will be given the opportunity to do so

    Sponsorship is needed for those disciples whose families cannot cover the cost of their tuition and transportation and feeding while at school

    These disciples will be housed and fed at the Rehab Center when they are not in school

  • Project 13 –Computer Skills Training

    Volunteers teach interested disciples basic computer skills

    Disciples are introduced to the use of a computer including types of hardware devices, saving documents etc

    Basic software training is given such as using MS-Word etc

    Typing lessons will also be given

  • Project 14 – Music Lessons (instruments and vocals)

    Volunteers teach disciples how to play the guitar, keyboard and conga drums

    Lessons will be held on Tuesdays and Wednesdays for one hour

    Disciples taking part in these lessons need not be part of the Chosen Band

  • Project 15 – Video Editing Lessons

    Disciples will be taught the basics of video editing using Adobe Premier Pro CS3 and Adobe After Effects CS3.

    These skills will be used in editing all the videos shot by Chosen Rehab Center.

  • Project 16 – Book Writing

    Disciples’ testimonies and life experiences will be detailed in a series of books on addiction

    Disciples will also write various books about the Christian faith, living for the Lord etc.

  • Project 17– Farming

    Disciples who graduate can be employed to work on the Center’s farm at Shai Hills.

    Any crops grown on the farm can be used to meet the Center’s feeding needs

  • Project 18 – Pottery

    Disciples go to Unique Ceramics to create various handicrafts on Tuesdays and Thursdays

    This teaches them a new skill and helps to harness their creativity

    Any pottery made can be sold to raise funds for the organization
