CHOSEN CHILDREN’S CENTER

Home for Orphans, Ghetto Babies and Abused Children

Did you know 60% of street kids end up becoming drug users?

WHERE THERE IS LIFE, THERE IS HOPE

Chosen Children's Center, one of the important wings of the Chosen Rehab, was established out of the women's center. This center was established to take care of the children of female addicts and also children who were found loitering in the ghettos because their parents were either addicts or they were abandoned. It's currently located in Accra-Darkuman behind Water Works.

Volunteers assist with rescuing babies from the ghettos.

The Department of Social Welfare with assistance of the police bring in abandoned street kids and abused children. Radio Stations also work in collaboration with the Center to aid in broadcasting lost children that are being sheltered at the Center.

All the children at the Center attend a private school in the area. Once the building project is completed, the Center will establish its own school for the orphans and the children in the area. Click here to donate towards the building of the school.

KIDS ABANDONED DUE TO PARENTS ADDICTION

The children were found loitering in the ghettos abandoned by their parents and to survive they were being used by people in the ghetto to commit petty crimes.

BABIES ON DRUGS THROUGH BREASTFEEDING

Most of the female addicts came to the center either pregnant, or with babies who were breastfed. Through the breast feeding the babies became addicted to drugs and experienced withdrawal symptoms once the mother started using baby formula.

Meet Zoe Washington. Zoe experienced withdrawal symptoms once her mother stopped feeding her. She is now doing well and has started school.

It’s always fulfilling to see these kids happy and with smiles all over their faces.

YOUR VISITATION WILL CHEER ME UP

“The perpetration on the street makes him wonder if life will ever be fair to the unfortunate children who are still suffering out there”

WE ARE THE CHOSEN ONES

It is not our fault to be orphans, street kids, and vulnerable children. Even though society sometimes tends to be hard on us, because of our lack of parental guidance, but it still doesn’t change God’s purpose for us, irrespective of our family background. We might come from wretched homes but our destiny isn’t wretched; we are the future generation, destined for greatness!

A DAY OUT WITH SOME VOLUNTEERS

We had an awesome day with YES Alumni Association as we made a trip to JAMES TOWN FORT and THE INDEPENDENCE SQUARE. Our doors are open to volunteers and donors for trips that will enhance our knowledge about our beloved country.
